Standard refrigerated shipping containers ( often known as reefers ) usually run on a 3 phase 415V electrical supply although 240V domestic supply units are available - at extra cost. Nominal lengths being 40ft and 20ft with stainless steel walls , GRP ceiling and "T" section aluminium flooring which can be converted to suit your requirements ie: Sliding side doors with cold screen , butchers doors , IP65 vapour proof low temperature internal lighting with heated switchgear , internal release locks/man-trap panic alarms. ProvidIng close temperature control ( -20oC to +20oC ) for perishable goods during transportation and portable or static cold storage use , the versatility of a reefer is endless. From hard frozen ice-cream to chilled fresh produce , pharmaceuticals , flowers or blood plasma , temperature sensitive produce controlled and monitored by a reefer container. Climate controlled containers, chiller or freezer containers are hired or sold after undertaking and passing stringent diagnostic tests and thorough cleaning of interior and exterior.
Reefer bodies are constructed from alloy or steel with the underside cross members being made from steel - making them very sound structurally. Different container manufacturer's dimensions vary slightly from one to another, listed below is an indication of nominal external and internal sizes.
